Dans le double album HIStory, Thriller est la neuvième chanson du Disc I HIStory Begins.
La version qui se trouve sur le single est une version raccourcie par rapport à la version qui se trouve sur l’album.
Un maxi-single sorti à l’époque mentionnait une version « Long version » qui n’était autre que celle de l’album et non une version allongée comme il en existe pour Billie Jean sur un maxi-single.
La version instrumentale est quand à elle aussi longue que la version album.
A noter que la version présente dans le clip-vidéo n’a hélas jamais été éditée…
