Pour fêter les 50 ans de Michael Jackson, Sony BMG décide de sortir un Best-Of intitulé « King Of Pop » et ce dans plusieurs pays avec parfois une liste de chansons différente, parfois une pochette légèrement différente avec la mention du pays dans lequel celle-ci est sortie. Certains pays allant même jusqu’à faire voter les fans sur des sites internet afin de déterminer quelles chansons devaient apparaître sur le dit Best-Of.

En France, c’est MJFrance qui fut choisi comme lieu de vote. Le site MJ Data Bank également. Poussés par la connaissance de la possibilité de voir apparaître des titres ou versions rares, les français arrivent donc à mettre sur cette compilation et dans sa version 3 CD collector des titres comme Got The Hots (demo recorded during original), Carousel (short/cut version as bonus track from 2001, NOW COMPLETE) et Rock With You (#1 LP Version – Without Handclaps).
